32 weeks

Sunday, April 27, 2014

*this week has been super crazy busy and the first time this pregnancy I didn't have time to do a normal 32 week chalkboard picture! A little belly bump with my hubby will have to do!*

How far along: 32 weeks
Size: A winter squash...whatever that is
Gender: She's still a she!
Fun Fact: We had an ultrasound this week to watch baby girl's growth and she's still in the 30th percentile (within normal range but on the small side) and estimated weight is 3lbs 13oz! So fun to imagine what she'll look like, I can't wait!
Weight Gain: 23 lbs
Symptoms: Exhaustion at a whole new level, sleepless nights, feeling full really easily, and some swelling to my legs and feet by the end of my long work shifts. But also feeling incredibly grateful for this little bean and excitement that we just can't contain! 53 days until her due date but who's counting... ;)
Maternity clothes: Still mixing maternity in with my regular shtuff.
Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: The top sticks out when I'm standing up and when I'm sitting it all seems flat.
Sleep: Oy, sleep has been HORRIBLE this week. I have no problem falling asleep around 9 or 10 but then wake up every.single.night between 1-2am and lay there until 5:30am when I have to get up for work! I just can't seem to turn my brain off or get comfortable when I wake up at 1am so I just lay there tossing and turning. Makes me super happy and friendly during my 12 hour shift. NOT.
Best moment this week: Seeing baby girl on the ultrasound screen. She's such a mover now and kept kicking during the scan when the tech was trying to measure her thigh bones. Already showing us some personality!
Worst moment this week: The whole sleep situation has been pretty shitty.
Miss anything: Sleeeeeeeep. How'd you know thatd be my answer to this question?
Movement: She's moving all the time! She is still head down, her booty is near my belly button and her legs are still off to the right side of my belly.  So weird when she moves her butt AND her legs at the same time. It feels like she's doing somersaults in there. Sometimes it hurts for a second yet I love it. It's an all-around strange/amazing feeling.
Cravings: Still the same stuff. This week has been weird. I've hardly found myself to be "hungry". Even after eating one banana I feel so full. I usually just snack on small stuff throughout the day.
Queasy or sick: Nope!
Looking forward to: Seeing what she looks like! Me and Ken have bets going on when she'll be born, her height and weight, and whether she'll have hair or not. Here's Ken's predictions: June 5th, 20 inches, 6lbs, and no hair. My predictions: June 11th, 19 inches, 6lbs 2oz, and lots of dark hair! Can't wait to see!!

31 weeks

Wednesday, April 23, 2014

**This post is late! I'm actually 32 weeks now and will post about it (along with my baby shower!) this weekend!**

How far along: 31 weeks, 5 days
Size: A pineapple!
Gender: GIRL, which makes me more and more excited every week
Fun Fact: She now has all 5 senses and is about as long as she will be at birth (around 18 inches)! Now just time for her to fatten up a bit :)
Weight Gain: 21 lbs
Symptoms: Shortness of breath. I can't lay flat anymore and have to be propped up with 2,000 pillows.
Maternity clothes: Yea yea. All I fit in/am comfy in is maxi skirts, long tanks, sleep shirts, and comfy shorts. I can't imagine this wardrobe changing much in the next 9 weeks or so. I am determined to find a swim suit that looks DESCENT on me by the time this pregnancy is over. I never ever thought I'd have to buy a L or XL top but that seems to be the case with these big ol knockers that have consumed my chest. And people keep telling me they'll get even bigger after delivery?! Oy.
Stretch marks: Nope, so thankful.
Belly button in or out: Well, I really can't decide. The top of it sticks out but the bottom is still flat. By the end of the day however, it's as flat as the state of Arizona.
Sleep: Still sleeping pretty well but it's quite annoying that I can't lay in bed anymore to watch TV unless I'm completely propped up or laying on my side. Laying flat makes me feel like I'm drowning. Sleep is still sorta shitty the nights before work. I can't get my mind to shut off
Best moment this week: We had maternity pictures done a few days ago and I'm so excited to see how they all turn out! It was fun pampering myself in preperation for them :)
Worst moment this week: Ehhh nothin.
Miss anything: Laying on my back, and stomach.
Movement: LOTS of movement! Like full blown body parts moving across my belly. It's so fun to sit and feel and try to guess what body part of hers I'm poking. I'm pretty sure she's still head down cause when I feel her hiccups (which is like every 20 minutes I swear) they're still low in my pelvis.
Cravings: Waffles, iced coffee, italian sandwiches.
Queasy or sick: Nope, feelin great
Looking forward to: Lots & lots. Easter this weekend which means I'll be eating my weight in my yummy deviled eggs I make every year, ultrasound next week, baby showers, BABY GIRL'S ARRIVAL OF COURSE, maternity leave, & finally being able to enjoy some fun summer drinks!

Pregnancy Favorites

1. Bumpnest Pregnancy Body Pillow I know I've mentioned this pillow before but it really is a great item to have throughout pregnancy. Ken got me this for Christmas and I'm so glad he did. You do have to try it out in different positions until you find what's most comfortable for you but it's great for sleep or even just propping yourself up in bed to watch TV.
2. Gap Supersoft Maternity Leggings I think I've mentioned these before as well..and for good reason. They are the comfiest (is that a word?) leggings I've ever had. Extremely soft and stretchy which is a must when you're body is getting bigger by the hour day. I know I'll rock these even when I'm not pregnant because they.are.that.amazing.
3. Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm My sister turned me on to this chapstick when she was visiting over Christmas. I tried hers out and immediately had to have one of my own. It makes your lips super super soft and doesn't leave that nasty white film after wearing it awhile. Especially great in pregnancy since your skin and lips can be extremely dry due to those lovely hormones.
4. Sleep Shirt Another nod to my amazing sis..she got me a sleep shirt from Victoria's Secret for Christmas and it has been a saving grace these past couple weeks. All of my old comfy shirts I used to wear to bed are too tight and feel uncomfortable. These sleep shirts are super soft and easy to wear with a big belly.
5. Starbucks Stainless Steel Tumbler Ken got me this tumbler sometime last year and I was a bit skeptical about it at first. It's not as "cute" as the traditional Starbucks tumbler but is way more practical and durable. A few things I love about it is it doesn't sweat, the ice NEVER melts in it which leaves me with ice cold water for literally hours and hours.  I bring this thing with me to work, to bed, and everywhere else in between. It's da bomb.
6. Philosophy Living Grace Lotion I know I've talked about this lotion in previous posts as well but I just can't rave about it enough. It is hands-down my favorite lotion of all time. The entire Philosophy line is just amazing and totally worth splurging for. The Living Grace scent is my favorite. It's subtle, feminine, and clean...exactly how a preggo would like to feel :) Plus, I think it's really helped keep my skin moisturized, hydrated, and has prevented stretch marks. Philosophy for the win!
7. Pandora Internet Radio Who doesn't love Pandora? I have it on all.the.time whether it's sitting at the computer, on my phone while I'm getting ready in the bathroom, or blasting in my car. When I'm listening to it on my phone I sometimes put it on my belly and like to think baby girl can hear the music and dance around :) A few of my favorite stations this pregnancy have been Lorde, Imagine Dragons, and Today's Hits. Baby N will love music as much as her mama does!

30 weeks

How far along: 30 weeks
Size: A cucumber!
Gender: Girl

Fun Fact: Little peanut's hair is growing thicker. She can open her eyes, dream, and weighs just under 3 pounds!
Weight Gain: 19 lbs
Symptoms: A big ol belly & achy feet by the end of the day
Maternity clothes: Still mixing maternity with my regular stuff. I went dress shopping the other day to find something to wear to my baby shower and it was a bit depressing. Why can't my regular go-to stores have a maternity section!?
Stretch marks: Nada
Belly button in or out: I'd say still 50% out, 50% flat..I'm hangin on to it!
Sleep: Sleep is good, no complaints
Best moment this week: Nothing really stands out. We finally got the rocking chair and get to set it up today so I'm pretty stoked about that. The nursery is nearly complete! Just need a sweet babe to finish it off :) I can't wait to share pictures of it once it's all done!
Worst moment this week: Can't think of any
Miss anything: Running, hiking, & having energy after 3pm
Movement: Holy hiccups. She gets them several times a day. Pretty much after anything I eat I can feel her start to hiccup! It only lasts a few minutes and feels sorta strange...like a constant "popping" in my pelvis.
Cravings: Cereal, fruit, waffles, string cheese, peanut butter toast, and greek yogurt have been my diet staples.
Queasy or sick: Nope
Looking forward to: Maternity pictures this weekend by the amazing Jasmine Amber Photography! She did our engagement and wedding photos and now she'll get to do our bump session! Easter is coming up and although we don't have set plans yet, I'm really looking forward to eating some deviled eggs, jelly beans, and other Easter goodies!

And just to compare how big my belly has gotten...

29 weeks

Saturday, April 5, 2014

How far along: 29 weeks
Size: A small pumpkin
Gender: Girl
Fun Fact: Baby girl is over 15 inches long and getting fatter by the day :)
Symptoms: Exhaustion by 2pm, peeing every 30 minutes, and I officially have to do an open-leg squat in order to pick anything off the ground. Tying my shoes has become quite the challenge as well.
Maternity clothes: Yep, but I'm happy to say I still fit into my regular jeggings with a hair-tie trick closure ;) I can still pretty much wear "non-maternity" stuff as long as it's a size up from what I would normally wear.
Stretch marks: Nope!
Belly button in or out: I'd say it's 50% out and 50% flat. It's odd. I'm thinking my answer to this next week will change...
Sleep: Still sleeping pretty good. I can still do long stretches but wake up every couple hours or so and turn side to side. This week I've found it a must to sleep with a pillow between my knees. Why didn't I do this before? It's so comfy!
Best moment this week: I turned 27!
Worst moment this week: I turned 27!
HA. Oh, and my doctor's office called and are putting me on an iron supplement since my hemoglobin was low. Boo. However, I did pass my 1 hour glucose tolerance test, yippee!
Miss anything: A glass of vino, fitting in a swim suit
Movement: Yep love all her little movements. I even felt some hiccups a few times this week! Just feels like a "pop" every couple seconds. So crazy to think there's a real baby in me....HICCUPING.
Cravings: Nothing really in particular this week. If you're eating it, then it sounds good to me.
Queasy or sick: Naw
Looking forward to: April in general! It's one of my favorite months of the year and we have lots going on this month! Next week we take some maternity pictures and in a couple weeks we get to have our baby shower! I can't wait to get everything done in the nursery and all our goodies organized. Is it too early to start packing a hospital bag?!
